Built-In Shelves Pulled
Shelves pulled and it took some muscle. I charmed one of the guys here doing bids on the flooring project to lend a hand. It might end up being laminate instead of carpet.
See the bottom part of wall, this built-in was removed when the new sheetrock (walls were installed), but the wood pedestal base was not pulled, so no sheetrock in that lower area. Sheetrock being much thicker than paneling , made it so the shelves no longer lined up with the base so they were "off'/uneven". If ya want something done right, sometimes you really must do it yourself...

Preparing For New Carpet
Leveling out the two old floor registers, that are not used by the new central air and heating system. This has been done prior to the new carpet in both bedrooms, so I'm getting to be a pro at it now. Thanks to the advice of my son-in-law Darrell.

I just cut a piece of plywood a little larger then the registers opening, screw in a screw into the middle to use as a temporary handle on the plywood. Then insert the plywood holding the handle I created and screw straight down through the floor and into the plywood below, which holds the plywood in place. There will be a gap the thickness of the floor, this is filled will a gypsum based floor leveling powder that's been mixed with water for this particular use. It dries flat and level with the floor, ready for new pad and carpeting!
