Rocking Toilet, Flange & Floor
In 2007 I had new 'chair height' toilets installed. The one
in the master bath rocked. It seemed to work fine, no signs of a leak, so just
learned to live with the 'rocking toitie'.
December 2011 new hardwood flooring was installed. Master
toilet was reinstalled & still rocked as it had before.
One year later
December 2012, the new hardwood floor in the master bath started sinking/dipping down
near the wall. Floor was ripped out which exposed the soaked sub floor, which
in a mobile home is not plywood :-( and underlayment.
I've cleaned it & have sprayed a generous amount of bleach, hoping to kill any rot or mold.
I have a dehumidifier, fan and heater going 24/7 in hopes of drying out the soaked sub-floor, my fingers are crossed. Will level with self leveling mud, replace underlayment, replace flange, reinstall hardwood
and toilet.
I *think* since the floor is so much higher due to the added underlayment & hardwood flooring that the
hardwood floor guy didn't know to maybe use two wax rings or whatever is done
to get a good seal with the toilet so far from the flange. More Darling Dump Pics
